August, 2019

Dear Skyway Students, Parents & Families,

The 2019-2020 school year affords all of us the opportunity to restart our engines to provide endless opportunities for student learning and success.  And while our address hasn’t changed, there have been significant school-wide improvements that will benefit all students.

  • Two new benches on the kindergarten playground highlighting "We Are Skyway!  Do What's Right!"
  • Phase I of our library remodel with new paint and the first set of new furniture to facilitate more interactive learning spaces for students and collaborative areas for staff.
  • Painted bulletin boards in the upper building to provide a fresh look for our intermediate students.
  • New parking lot for staff and visitors and resurfaced west blacktop.

Once again, we celebrate our steady climb up the achievement ladder while continuing to improve our teaching practices.  Staff are planning engaging lessons, aligned to end-of-year targets, maximizing every minute of instructional time to support learning.  Be prepared for a call sharing your child(ren)'s success and ways we are supporting their needs.

Skyway traditions live on in many forms, and we encourage and welcome your attendance and participation.  Our website lists events and our newsletters capture additional opportunities to become involved.  Whether you would like to teach a lesson about your passion or read once a week to a student, we can meet all your volunteer needs.

I am continually grateful for the opportunity to serve as your building principal and look forward to an outstanding year.  We all appreciate your involvement in our community and commitment to the district’s vision of being an excellent school in our excellent district!
